In the 5-year development plans of the State Planning Organization, genetic engineering and biotechnology, which are within the scope of molecular biology and genetics, have been defined as priority areas and the importance of qualified labor force in these fields has been pointed out.

Today, there is a significant deficit in the number of employees equipped with basic knowledge and updated information on these subjects in Turkey compared to developed countries.

Turkey has to meet the deficit in these areas, which will become even more important especially in the coming years, to keep up with the times.

In this context, graduates of the Program who will have the qualifications mentioned above can be employed in the following sectors today, to which new employment areas will inevitably be added in the very near future as a result of rapidly changing conditions and new requirements.

•    Scientific career in domestic and foreign universities and research institutions
•    Research and development in sectors that make biotechnology-based production such as drugs and food 
•    Research, development and implementation in health, agriculture, livestock and environmental organizations
•    Technical staff in institutions operating and providing the necessary infrastructure and materials in the fields of genetic engineering and biotechnology
•    Product managers in the pharmaceutical industry
•    Education and marketing
