The Founding Head of the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics (MOBİGEN), our esteemed teacher Prof. Dr. Atilla Özalpan was commemorated with the event held on the 12th year of his passing away. The event, which was held on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, was attended by two of the previous rectors of our university, Member of the Board of Trustees Prof. Dr Tamer Koçel and Prof. Dr Dursun Koçer, Head of the Department of Physics, with their speeches titled "An Organization Story: Molecular Biology and Genetics". 

At the event, to which our Chairperson of the Board of Trustees Dr Bahar Akıngüç Günver, our Rector Prof. Dr Fadime Üney Yüksektepe, Vice Rector Prof. Dr Gülce Öğrüç Ildız and Prof. Dr Burcu Yavuz Tiftikçigil, our Board of Trustees Advisor Özkan Gül, our Secretary General Ender Rıza Ekici, our Faculty of Arts and Sciences Dean Prof. Dr Ömür Ceylan, our Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Science and Literature & one of the faculty members of the Department of Physics, Assist. Prof. Ayşegül Fulya Yelkenci, Dean of the Faculty of Art and Design Prof. Dr Mehmet Üstünipek, one of the faculty members of the Department of Business Administration, Prof. Dr Mahmut Paksoy, our Vocational School Director & Department of Physics faculty member Prof. Dr Mehmet Özer, one of our Industrial Engineering Department academicians, Assist. Prof. İbrahim Ethem Tarhan, Head of the Department of Construction and Technical Mehmet Yücesan, İKÜMED Alumni Relations Manager Ali Kaplanoğlu and Prof. Dr Atilla Özalpan's family and friends, MOBIGEN academic staff and students attended, the contributions of our teacher Prof. Dr Atilla Özalpan in the establishment of MOBIGEN, which started education in 2007, his memories with his students and friends were shared with photographs.
