RES. ASSIST. ENES BAL AND RES. ASSIST. BUSE ÖZDEN PRESENTED THEIR STUDIES AT THE 3RD INTERNATIONAL AQUATIC BIOTECHNOLOGY SYMPOSIUM

Res. Assist. Enes Bal and Res. Assist. Buse Özden from the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics (MOBIGEN), along with their teammate Seher Elif Mekik from Istanbul University, presented their joint work titled “Sedimentary Ancient DNA: Cutting-edge Techniques and Their Applications in Biotechnology” at the 3rd International Aquatic Biotechnology Symposium, organized by Istanbul University Faculty of Aquatic Sciences, on September 26, 2024.

"APPLIED NEXT GENERATION SEQUENCING (NGS) WORKSHOP" AT MOBIGEN

"Applied Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) Workshop" was organized in the laboratories of the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics between the dates 24 and 26 June 2024, sponsored by Gen-Era Diagnostics. In the workshop where Field Application Specialist Erdi Kara, Technical Product Specialist Gizem Alkurt and Sales Specialist Sahra Aras introduced the new generation sequencing technology with the "Illumina iSeq 100" device; genomic DNA isolation from bacteria, qualitative and quantitative analysis, PCR, library preparation and new sequencing were performed.

“AN INNOVATIVE APPROACH TO CANCER RESEARCH: SYNTHESIS OF THREE-DIMENSIONAL SPHEROID CELL CULTURES WITH ZEBRAFISH MODELS”

A seminar titled "An Innovative Approach to Cancer Research: Synthesis of Three-Dimensional Spheroid Cell Cultures with Zebrafish Models" was organized by the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics on Wednesday, May 15, 2024.  Participating in the event as a speaker, Dr.  Kübra Telli made a in depth presentation on the current cancer research and cell culture studies carried out in Zebrafish, used as a model organism in the field of molecular biology and genetics.
