Molecular Biology and Genetics includes how biotic properties are acquired, their evolution, and their genetic and biological characteristics today.

However, these sciences are not limited to determine the characteristics of life, and the genetic engineering techniques developed by these disciplines has started a new era in biotechnology. Subjects such as recombinant vaccines and drugs, early diagnosis and treatment of genetic diseases, the creation of plants and animals with desired features through gene transfer method are included in the scope of gene engineering applications.

Training qualified personel equipped with theoretical and practical knowledge in the various sub-branches of Molecular Biology and Genetics.The aim of the Department is also to conduct research especially in the fields of cancer molecular biology and plant biotechnology.
